MEC CROWNED CAMPAIGN’S MEDIA AGENCY OF THE YEAR

MEC has been named the Media Agency of the Year at the Campaign Media Awards, as well as picking up a further four wins at last night’s event. The awards celebrate creativity in the media business and award brilliant and inspiring creative media ideas.

MEC was also awarded the Chairman’s Award for Innovation for its work for HomeServe on eBay. The campaign included a bespoke HomeServe content hub on eBay.co.uk, a series of ‘How to’ videos and an eBay auction of 2,000 HomeServe-branded radiator keys created by MEC. The campaign was also awarded the Financial, Corporate & Utilities Award on the night.  

Continuing the success, the agency’s work with Public Health England on the world’s first Sugar Accumulator was awarded the Bloomberg Data & Creativity Award. The Sugar Accumulator is a real-time data visualisation that uses Government nutritional criteria, and a traffic light system, to measure the volume of low, medium and high sugar products in a shopper’s online basket. The campaign has previously been awarded the DADI Award for Public Sector Campaign.

The Best Use of Research award was also awarded to MEC for its work with Netflix on the FOMOmeter. The FOMOmeter uses real-time tweets from all around the UK and Ireland to help viewers stay in the know with which films and TV shows are trending on Twitter near them.
